Crystal Palace FC had survived the First World War, financially, by the skin of their teeth.
Their local rivals, Croydon Common FC, were not so lucky. They were evicted from their small ground, the Nest, opposite Selhurst Station, in 1916. A year later, they were forced by their creditors into bankruptcy - and into oblivion.
Palace occupied the Nest in March 1918, judging it preferable to the Herne Hill cycle track, despite the terms of their new lease which left the club at the mercy of just one month’s notice. Their landlords - the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway Company - made it quite clear from the outset that Palace should regard their tenancy at the Nest as strictly temporary as they had other, very concrete, plans for the site.
So, starting with the 1918/1919 season, Palace had a new home. The Borough of Croydon. How would they be welcomed there?

You may return an item for a refund or an exchange within 30 days of receipt in a new and unused condition and in its original packaging.

If the item is deemed to be faulty you must contact us within 7 days of delivery to inform us of the fault and, depending on the product, you will be advised what to do next. A refund cannot be given if a player leaves the club or their squad number changes for any personalisation products you may have bought.
Please allow up to 5 working days for us to receive the returned items and inspect them, if we accept the returned items a refund will be processed directly to the payment card the original order was placed with.
